Activities programme
At Nice Boating Tomorrow, the sustainable boating show in Nice, you can discover a rich and engaging programme of educational events accessible to all.
There will be conferences, participatory workshops, film screenings, meetings and visits to eco-friendly boats. The show offers a truly immersive experience, providing insight into the challenges of ecological transition in boating and ocean conservation.
All these highlights will be hosted in a dedicated Events Area throughout the event.
Villefranche Sea Institute
The IMEV’s scientific mediation team will be on hand to discuss the ocean and all the related scientific and environmental issues. Two events will be offered during the weekend:
- Marine Protected Area Event: Working in groups and starting at fixed times, participants will engage in collaborative thinking about the effects of a Marine Protected Area on biodiversity.
- Plankton observation activity: Using binocular magnifying glasses and microscopes, observe a sample of seawater rich in phytoplankton and zooplankton. Highlights will be shown on a big screen every day at the exhibition.

7TH CONTINENT EXPEDITION
On 19 and 20 March, visitors to the Nice Boating Tomorrow event will have the opportunity to explore the schooner and climb aboard. Educational workshops will teach schoolchildren about waste pollution, its consequences and how to remedy it. Using microscopes, they will analyse ocean water containing plastic microparticles. This awareness-raising activity is sure to be a hit with our budding young scientists!
To combat the proliferation of waste at sea more effectively, Expedition 7th Continent will organise educational workshops to raise awareness of plastic pollution in marine environments. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to educate schoolchildren, the public, and local industrial and political stakeholders about the urgency of the situation.
Visitors will be able to discover the missions of Expedition 7th Continent among the workshops.

Plastic Odyssey
Year after year, millions of tonnes of plastic invade our oceans, endangering marine wildlife and disrupting the balance of our planet. The Plastic Odyssey expedition, led by Simon Bernard, is travelling the world in search of solutions to help create a plastic-free world. Its ship is a former oceanographic research vessel that has been renamed Plastic Odyssey.
Designed as ‘a true floating laboratory’, the ship aims to democratise recycling solutions by showcasing simple, inexpensive and easily reproducible processes.
Twenty tonnes of plastic are dumped into the oceans every minute. The vast majority – 80 to 90% – of plastic pollution originates from land. The Plastic Odyssey ship aims to circumnavigate the globe in three years, stopping at numerous coastal cities most affected by plastic pollution.
Come and watch the film about one of Plastic Odyssey’s expeditions at the show.

Mathis Bourgnon in attendance and film screening – winner of the Mini Transat 2025
Exactly 30 years after his father Yvan’s victory in 1995, Mathis Bourgnon won the Mini Transat 2025, a solo, unassisted race on a 6.50-metre prototype. His outstanding performance aboard the ‘934 Assomast’ continues the Bourgnon family’s legacy in ocean sailing. Following his impressive victory, Mathis then embarked on a return transatlantic crossing. Setting sail from Saint-François in Guadeloupe, he is now en route to Brittany. While the outward journey was marked by the Mini Transat, the return route is anything but standard.
Mathis will present his film and recount his journey alongside Akammak, his clothing partner and supporter of Nice Boating Tomorrow!
Besign School
Located in Nice, Besign School is much more than a design school. It is a true laboratory of innovation, where creativity and commitment come together to imagine a desirable future.
There will be participatory awareness-raising workshops with primary school classes as part of the My Reefs Project by Emil Tezner and Lilou Mouilleron. These short workshops last between 30 and 45 minutes and involve a dozen children aged 7 to 10. The aim is to help them find ways to get involved in protecting marine biodiversity. The aim is to create ceramic marine figurines representing elements of marine fauna and flora. These will be installed in underwater farms to help develop and protect marine biodiversity.
Discover the ‘Objective Ocean by BESIGN’ exhibition at the show. Comprising five triptychs, this exhibition presents nine object design projects and scenarios to help the general public protect the ocean, as well as stories about students at Besign School’s commitment to protecting the ocean.

Posidonia: the blue lung of the Mediterranean
As we know, Posidonia is a marine plant endemic to the Mediterranean Sea, not an alga. It plays a major ecological role: it protects the coastline, acts as a reservoir of biodiversity, captures CO₂ through photosynthesis, and improves water quality. However, it is fragile! It is under threat from boat anchoring, pollution, coastal urbanisation and global warming. We must therefore work together to remedy the situation!
A conference will be organised by Fountaine-Pajot, featuring Sigrid Mongeau (CSR Manager at the Fountaine-Pajot Group), Alliance Posidonia, WWF with Catherine Piante, and Garmin with Thomas Dore.
WWF – SCREENING OF THE FILM RORQUAL (42 MINUTES)
The film Rorqual is the result of 20 years of in-depth research conducted by WWF in the Mediterranean Sea. In order to effectively protect these giants of the sea from collisions, pollution, and other devastating human activities, it is crucial that we first get to know them.
Rorqual, written and directed by Hugo Hebbe and narrated by Gérard Darmon, in partnership with 20 Minutes and Ushuaïa TV, will take visitors to the heart of the Mediterranean to discover one of its greatest mysteries: the fin whale.
Have you ever wondered what creatures the Mediterranean could harbour?
‘Out there, far offshore, in the deep waters of the big blue, hides an animal of extraordinary dimensions. The largest living creature on the planet after the blue whale, it found refuge in our waters long ago. It is a pillar of the ecosystem and a symbol of the richness of our world. Set off to meet the fin whale.”

Rallye des Iles du Soleil
Organised by Grand Pavois Organisation (GPO), the Rallye des Iles du Soleil is a safe and supervised Atlantic sailboat crossing open to monohulls and multihulls over 10 metres in length. Departure is set for October. The programme consists of two stages, with the first leg covering 970 miles between La Palma and Mindelo, followed by a second leg covering 2,130 miles between Mindelo and Marie-Galante in Guadeloupe.
A presentation will be given at the show on Saturday 21 March at 4:30 pm. All yachtsmen and enthusiasts are invited to discover this opportunity to cross the Atlantic in a flotilla in complete safety, in a friendly atmosphere. This will ensure the preservation of resources and marine animals, and the consumption of as little fossil fuel as possible during the transatlantic crossing.

Je roule en Electrique
At the joint Je roule en Electrique stand, visitors will be able to learn about the benefits of switching to electric cars through the Advenir Formations programme. The programme aims to remove the barriers to adoption.
