Our commitments to sustainable boating – Nice Boating Tomorrow

Nice Boating Tomorrow was born from a simple conviction: the boating industry of tomorrow must be built today.
More than just an exhibition, the show is a field of action—where every choice matters and each edition allows us to go further.

From its very first edition, Nice Boating Tomorrow has turned commitments into concrete actions, implementing sustainable solutions at every stage of its organization.

An eco-designed boat show from the start

The planning of Nice Boating Tomorrow integrates eco-design principles from the outset, minimizing environmental impact while ensuring a high-quality experience for exhibitors and visitors:

  • Local, committed service providers ensuring eco-responsible practices in stand construction and signage.
  • Sustainable materials for installations: raw wood flooring under stands, solid wood partitions and cladding, without carpets or scratchy cotton.
  • LED lighting powered by solar energy, significantly reducing electricity consumption while providing optimal, pleasant illumination.
  • Modular and reusable stand elements, limiting waste production at every edition.

Responsible resource management

We ensure that every resource used is optimized and environmentally respectful:

  • Fully digital badges and registration, reducing paper use and simplifying the visitor journey.
  • Reduced energy and water consumption, thanks to smart systems and eco-conscious team practices.
  • Local, seasonal catering with certified products from short supply chains (under 200 km), supporting the local economy and lowering carbon footprint.

Waste reduction, recovery, and recycling

Nice Boating Tomorrow implements a comprehensive strategy to minimize and valorize waste generated by the event:

  • Systematic reduction and recycling of wood, glass, cardboard, bio-waste, Akilux… each material is responsibly managed.
  • Controlled waste flows, with rigorous site organization to prevent waste and contamination of recycling streams.
  • Material valorization wherever possible.

Raising awareness and engaging participants

The show also serves as a catalyst for transformation within the boating industry:

  • Workshops and conferences on reducing energy consumption at sea, decarbonization, usage-based economy, low-carbon strategies, and marine ecosystem protection.
  • Participatory programs involving exhibitors, partners, and visitors, creating a collective and sustainable dynamic.
  • Innovative educational initiatives, allowing visitors to leave with concrete practices for responsible boating.
  • Raising awareness among the younger generation, by welcoming several schools and organising a range of educational workshops to help children understand, from a very young age, the importance of protecting the oceans and practising more responsible boating.

Soft mobility and responsible logistics

The impact of a show also extends beyond the site, through transportation and logistics:

  • Encouraging soft mobility: secure bike racks, carpooling incentives, and optimized tramway access.
  • Optimized logistics to limit transport, reduce unnecessary trips, and prioritize local suppliers.
  • Reduced emissions from visitor and equipment flows through precise monitoring and targeted actions.

Measuring and continuously improving environmental impact

Sustainable commitment is measured over time, and Nice Boating Tomorrow is committed to continuous improvement:

  • Monitoring and evaluating the show’s environmental impact.
  • Identifying areas for progress for future editions, always pushing further in reducing ecological footprint and promoting responsible boating.

An event hosted at an eco-friendly venue: OcéaNice

The Nice Boating Tomorrow Forum is set to take place at the OcéaNice conference centre, a venue designed from the outset in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.

  • This eco-designed, modular building is conceived as an evolving, demountable and reusable structure that minimises its environmental impact over time.
  • It takes an integrated circular economy approach, with 94% of materials being reusable, recyclable or reused, and its structures are derived from the reuse of those used for the 2024 Olympic Games in particular.
  • Energy performance is controlled thanks to photovoltaic panels, 100% LED lighting and optimised systems that reduce consumption.
  • Responsible resource management includes rainwater harvesting and the use of furniture made from recycled materials.
  • The design is local and low-carbon, with components mainly produced in France and Europe to minimise transport.

By hosting the show at this committed venue, Nice Boating Tomorrow demonstrates its commitment to ensuring that substance and form go hand in hand by offering a sustainable event right down to its infrastructure.
